Governor's Message

The Kiwanis Southern Philippine District traces its roots back to September 6, 1975, when it was originally established as the Philippine South District of Kiwanis International. Since its inception, the district has played a crucial role in serving underprivileged children and communities, primarily in the Visayas and Mindanao Regions.

A significant change occurred during the May 11-13, 2023 lloilo Congress, which was administered by Kiwanis International under the leadership of then International President Bert West. During this event, the district was officially renamed to Kiwanis Southern Philippine District.

Kiwanis Southern Philippine District has made remarkable contributions to the community. One of its most notable achievements is its pioneering effort in the use of iodized salt in the Philippines, a campaign that began in Davao City. This initiative played a key role in addressing iodine deficiency, which was a widespread public health concern at the time.

Beyond its localized impact in Visayas and Mindanao, the district's efforts extend worldwide, embodying the Kiwanis mission of serving the children of the world. Through various programs, it has provided assistance to countless rural, urban and indigenous children, helping improve their quality of life.

The Kiwanis Southern Philippine District boasts a strong network of 100 clubs distributed across 12 divisions. These clubs collectively consist of 2,023 dedicated members, all committed to the organization's core values of volunteerism, leadership, and service.

With its continued growth and commitment to service, Kiwanis Southern Philippine District remains a pillar of hope and community support, ensuring that the legacy of helping children and fostering goodwill endures for generations to come.

The Kiwanis Southern Philippine District is currently advancing its shift to digital operations, leveraging modern technology to enhance efficiency and engagement. Under the forward-thinking leadership of the district, the organization is harnessing online tools and social media platforms to develop dynamic leadership, foster collaboration among members, and drive significant membership growth. These digital initiatives aim to broaden the district's reach, enable real-time communication, and amplify its impact on the communities it serves.
